Chinese exports of polyester yarn totaled 46,100 tons in May 2026, a drop of 17.1% over May 2025 and also a fall of 9.2% over its previous month.
According to Chinese Customs data, in the first five months of 2026, exports of polyester yarn were down marginally by just 0.41% compared to the same months of 2025 and reached 235,200 tons.
Of total polyester yarn exports, single yarn exports touched 20,060 tons, doubled yarn exports were at 16,450 tons, and sewing thread yarn exports were 10,275 tons in the January to May 2026 months.
Within the first five months of the ongoing year, the highest decline in exports was in the months from March to May 2026.
Exports of polyester yarn in those months stood at 136,575 tons, a dip of 10.51% as against the same months of 2025.
