Brazil reached a new milestone in cotton exports, registering the highest volume shipped in history for the month of June 2026.
According to data compiled by the National Association of Cotton Exporters (ANEA), 217,000 tons of cotton was exported, up a massive 63.4% compared to June 2025.
During the month, the country earned US$ 350.6 million from cotton overseas sales, also up 64.1% over the same month of last year.
According to ANEA, the result confirms the expansion of Brazil’s presence in strategic markets, especially in Asia and the Middle East, regions that continue to concentrate most of the demand for Brazilian fibre.
Throughout the cotton harvest season, Brazil broke monthly shipping records in seven of the twelve months of the cycle — October, November, December, March, April, May, and June.
“Brazil managed to export significant volumes and gain ground in important markets for Brazilian cotton,” ANEA President Dawid Wajs highlighted in a statement released by the association.
Bangladesh, Turkey, Pakistan, and Vietnam together accounted for 71.1% of shipments made in June.
Bangladesh accounted for 21.7% of total cotton exports, Turkey 17.7%, Pakistan 17.4%, Vietnam 14.3%, Indonesia 7.6%, China and India 6.3% each.
Malaysia, Egypt, South Korea, Thailand, Mauritius, and Japan also figure among the destinations for Brazilian cotton.
