Azerbaijan cotton yarn exports nearly double between Jan-July

Date:

Azerbaijan shipped overseas more than 13,700 tonnes of cotton yarn worth $30.9 million across the first seven months of 2026.

The Customs authorities reported that the value of cotton yarn shipments climbed 1.8 times year-on-year, whilst export volumes rose 1.9 times against the corresponding stretch of 2025.

The latest figures mark a notable acceleration relative to the previous two full years as the robust performance logged across the first seven months of 2026 therefore carries particular weight.

The $30.9 million generated from cotton yarn exports within just seven months has already surpassed the full-year export value recorded in 2024.

“The country exported 11,187 tonnes of cotton yarn worth $31.29 million during 2023 and in 2024 they totaled 11,548.2 tonnes and $28.55 million,” Menafm reported.

Thus, between 2023 and 2024, the volume of cotton yarn shipments rose by approximately 3.2%, whilst export earnings fell by around 8.7%.
