The Panipat Municipal Corporation is implementing an ambitious project for water conservation and recycling of waste water. Post recycling, the water will be supplied to textile dyeing units.
The implementation of this project is expected to significantly reduce groundwater exploitation, which these textile dyeing mills are currently using for their water needs.
The Panipat Municipal Corporation has issued a tender of Rs 56.29 crore for the two STPs located in Siwah, each with a capacity of 25 and 35 million litres per day (MLD).
This mega project will supply around 55-60 MLD of treated water and transfer the treated water through pipelines to the Haryana Urban Development Authority’s tanks in Sector 29 which in turn will supply it to the textile mills and dyeing units in that area.
“Over 350 dyeing units, along with several textile mills and other industries will be supplied this treated water,” Amar Ujjala informed.
