NEWS: Avient Corporation, an innovator of materials solutions, is showcasing its latest advancements for the textile industry at ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025, one of Asia’s leading textile technology exhibitions, taking place from October 28–31 at the Singapore Expo. At the event, Avient will present its comprehensive portfolio of color, additive, and ink solutions developed to enhance the performance of polymer fibers and textiles while advancing sustainability goals.
WHAT’S DRIVING NEW DEVELOPMENTS AT AVIENT:
The textile industry is facing increasing pressure to reduce its environmental impact. Avient is working to help customers tackle this challenge with innovative solutions and customized technical support. This includes helping brands enhance textile performance while enabling textile recycling, conserving energy and water, and promoting safe and responsible manufacturing to support sustainability goals without compromising efficiency or quality.
WHAT WE’RE HIGHLIGHTING:
Colorants and additives for dope-dyeing (spin-dyeing):
- Renol™ Fiber Colorants and Remafin™ Fiber Colorants: developed for dope-dyeing (or spin-dyeing), requiring no water and less energy than traditional bath dyeing methods. These solutions can deliver excellent spinnability and batch-to-batch consistency with exemplary color fastness.
- Cesa™ Fiber Additives: can improve both the performance and processability of fibers. The portfolio features solutions for ultraviolet (UV) stabilization, flame retardancy, antimicrobial protection, heat preservation, cool feeling, and specialized processing aids, and can be optimized for use with recycled fibers.
- EcoPure® Biodegradation Accelerator: developed to accelerate the natural biodegradation of commodity types of plastic to meet the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Union (EU) Food Contact Safety Regulations. It is specially formulated for polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and Nylon. EcoPure® is a registered trademark of Bio-Tec Environmental LLC.
Key regulatory and compliance certifications for colorants and additives:
- Global Recycling Standard (GRS) 4.0 Accreditation: an international, voluntary, full-product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions. The GRS-certified color and additive solutions from Avient contain a required percentage of pre-consumer or post-consumer recycled polyester, primarily from recycled PET, PA, PP, PE, and other resin bases, that aim to reduce energy and water use during the spin-dyeing (dope-dyeing) process. Avient has three sites with this accreditation: Taoyuan, Suzhou, and Shenzhen.
- bluesign® SYSTEM PARTNER: a well-known external label for textiles that certifies increased sustainable chemistry and product safety in the textile industry. Avient’s Taoyuan site in Taiwan is among the first providers of colorants and additives for spin-dyeing to be recognized as a bluesign® SYSTEM PARTNER. It provides the ZDHC MRSL Level 3 to the Taoyuan site for its fiber color and additive solutions.
- MagnaPrint™ AquaFlex SZN: a range of ready-to-print, high solids, water-based inks developed for printing on high-stretch performance polyester or blended fabrics with both light and dark backgrounds. It offers a super soft hand feel and excellent fastness to achieve high-quality print and wash performance.
- MagnaPrint™ Migration Blocker SZN: a specialized under base solution that can prevent dye migration on polyester fabrics. It delivers exceptional fiber matt down, extends screen open time, and achieves migration resistance with fewer ink layers while maintaining a soft hand feel and fabric stretchability.
Key regulatory and compliance for Avient Specialty Inks:
- OECO-TEX® Eco Passport with ZDHC Level 3: an external certification system that verifies that products meet specific safety and sustainability requirements. Level 3 is the highest level of ZDHC conformance, indicating a comprehensive assessment of the chemical product, including an on-site audit and a chemical hazard assessment.
