Bangladesh and Pakistan have pledged to deepen business-to-business (B2B) links and examine wider collaboration along the textile and clothing value chain.
The commitment emerged during talks at the headquarters of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), where its President, Mohammad Hatem met Pakistan’s High Commissioner, Imran Haider.
Both parties considered how to put into practice the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between BKMEA and the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA), and also how to stage joint B2B sessions aimed at creating direct commercial contacts between firms in the two nations.
Hatem extended an invitation to Pakistani businesses to take part in the Bangladesh International Textile, Knitting and Garment Industry Exhibition, due to take place in Dhaka in January 2027.
Attending the show, he noted, would give companies a chance to build stronger supply-chain synergies and widen trading relationships between Bangladeshi and Pakistani enterprises.
Haider pledged BKMEA’s president every possible support in boosting two-way trade and commercial cooperation, BSS reported.
