China’s monthly exports of polyester staple fibre (PSF) in May 2026 weakened to 157.1 kilo tons (KT), down 1.73% from a year ago month and also down 2.8% over its previous month.
According to the latest Chinese Customs data, PSF exports reached 711.9 KT in the first five months of the current year, up 6.42% over the comparable months of the previous year.
From January to May 2026, PSF exports to Vietnam were the largest at 122.3 KT and accounted for 17.2% of total exports, while increasing by 2.6% year over year.
Exports to Pakistan were 84.15 KT, a drop of 1.8% over the first five months of 2025 and accounted for 11.8% of overall place and was second largest export destination for Chinese PSF.
Among other Chinese PSF overseas export destinations, those to Turkey increased by 35.4% in the first five months of 2026 and retained third rank, while those to Indonesia surged by 118%.
