DyStar Advances Sustainability in Manufacturing with ISO 14001 Accreditation at Gabus Plant

Date:

Singapore, 9 March 2026 – DyStar, a leading specialty chemical company with a heritage of more than a century in product development and innovation, is proud to announce the successful achievement of ISO 14001 accreditation, a globally recognized standard for environmental management systems (EMS). This accomplishment highlights DyStar’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, operational excellence, and responsible environmental stewardship.

The ISO 14001 certification confirms that the Gabus Plant has implemented comprehensive environmental management practices, including efficient resource utilization, waste reduction, and strict compliance with environmental regulations. The accreditation was awarded following a rigorous independent audit conducted by Bureau Veritas, validating the plant’s adherence to international best practices.

“Securing ISO 14001 accreditation at our Gabus Plant is another incredible milestone in DyStar’s sustainability journey,” said Mr Klaus Kadletz, Senior Vice President for South Asia, Southeast Asia and Turkey, Africa & Middle East. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our teams and reinforces our commitment to minimizing environmental impact while delivering value to our customers, brands and retailers, communities and stakeholders worldwide.”

This achievement aligns with the Group’s two-fold sustainability strategy: reducing our internal operational environmental impact and enabling customers to lower their own environmental footprint as part of their sustainability journey. As one of the largest production plants in the DyStar network, Gabus has made a substantial contribution toward the Group’s 2025 sustainability targets, which aim to reduce the environmental footprint by 30% (from 2011 levels) across energy, greenhouse gas emissions, water, and waste.

“At Gabus, we are proud to serve as a leading example for other DyStar sites. In FY2024, packaging intensity at Gabus was reduced by over 33% compared to the prior year,” said Mr. Clement Yang, Vice President, Global Manufacturing, DyStar Group. “This significant reduction, amounting to more than 30 kilograms per tonne of production, further underscores DyStar’s commitment to resource efficiency and aligns with the Group’s sustainability goals.”

By embedding environmental responsibility into everyday processes, DyStar continues to strengthen its role as a leader in sustainable manufacturing. Globally, DyStar remains committed to reducing its carbon footprint through revised policies and process workflows. These initiatives drive valuable propositions for customers by enabling them to lower their own environmental footprint. At the same time, they reinforce the resilience of the textile and chemical supply chain worldwide.
