In the first five months of 2026, Morocco in its exports of apparels to the European Union recorded one of the highest average unit prices amongst EU leading clothing suppliers.
Morocco apparel export price reached €25.9 per kilogram across the opening five months, up 11.8% from €23.1 a year prior.
Morocco was in second position on unit price, trailing Tunisia but ahead of Vietnam, according to an August report released of the Istanbul Apparel Exporters’ Association.
Morocco’s apparel shipments to the European Union slipped between January and May 2026, with import value falling 9% year on year to €1.05 billion.
This placed Morocco at eighth position amongst the EU’s 10 largest garment suppliers and benefits from duty-free access under the Euro-Med free trade framework.
The decline proved sharper in volume terms. EU imports from the North African country reached 40,693 tonnes between January and May 2026, down 18.6% from 49,964 tonnes a year prior.
Morocco had supplied 111,328 tonnes during 2024 and 114,844 tonnes across 2025, whilst its full-year export value into the EU stood at €2.80 billion in 2025.
Notwithstanding the fall in both value and volume, Morocco lifted its share of the EU apparel market to 2.7% across January-May 2026, up from 2.6% a year prior.
The report noted that Morocco ranked amongst suppliers that grew their market share, alongside China, Vietnam, Tunisia and Myanmar, whilst Bangladesh, Türkiye, India, Pakistan and Cambodia logged declines.
