Bombay Dyeing Cautions Consumers Against Counterfeit “Coral Vine Plus” Bedsheet Sets Circulating in Kerala

Date:

India 9th December 2025: Bombay Dyeing, one of India’s oldest and most respected home textile brands issued a public alert regarding a counterfeit bedsheet set labelled “Coral Vine Plus,” falsely carrying the Bombay Dyeing brand name and logo. The company has confirmed that Bombay Dyeing does not manufacture, market, or sell any product under the name Coral Vine Plus.

The issue came to light when several recipients approached Bombay Dyeing’s two authorised retail showrooms in Calicut to verify pricing. Store personnel immediately confirmed that the sets were not genuine Bombay Dyeing products, pointing out multiple discrepancies, including:

  • Use of the Bombay Dyeing name and logo without authorization
  • Absence of the official Bombay Dyeing hologram sticker
  • Inferior fabric quality compared to authentic Bombay Dyeing products
  • No product match in the company’s official catalogue
  • Misrepresentation to consumers through counterfeit packaging

Authorised showroom staff also guided customers using the genuine Bombay Dyeing QR-coded hologram, which enables verification of original products.

Bombay Dyeing has initiated efforts to trace the source of the counterfeit distribution and identify individuals involved in procurement and circulation.

Mr. Khiroda Jena – CFO of Bombay Dyeing shares “This incident is another reminder of how counterfeiters are deceiving consumers with substandard products under the Bombay Dyeing name. We strongly urge customers to purchase from legitimate retail partners and verify hologram and QR code authenticity before buying. Safeguarding our customers and protecting the integrity of the brand remains our utmost priority, and we are taking immediate steps to identify the source of this counterfeit distribution.”

Consumer Advisory
To avoid being misled by counterfeit sellers, Bombay Dyeing requests consumers to:

  • Purchase exclusively from authorised Bombay Dyeing retailers and dealers
  • Check for the official hologram + QR code on every product
  • Report suspicious products directly to Bombay Dyeing customer support
  • Follow official social media channels for updates and advisories
