A garment manufacturing facility, managed by Egyptian company Jade Textile and owned by Turkey’s Yesim Group, was inaugurated by the Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
The plant built at a cost of EGP 500 million is located in New Borg El Arab City, Alexandria and is expected to generate exports of US $500 million at full capacity and provide a boost to Egypt’s garment exports.
“The facility, which spans around 60,000 square meters is intended to be an integrated production center capable of handling numerous phases of garment manufacturing,” Daily News Egypt reported.
The production plant includes state of the art fabric cutting, embroidery, sewing, and finishing which will offer efficiency and quality and will provide employment on a large scale.
In addition to the new Alexandria location, the Turkish company has production facilities in 10th Ramadan City and Ismailia and all together will employ 15,000 people once the new plant reaches full capacity.
