Grasim revenue rises 21% in Q1FY’27, EBITDA at record high

Date:

Aditya Birla Group company, Grasim Industries Limited reported turnover of Rs 48,716 crore for the three months ending June 30, 2027, marking a 21% rise year-on-year, underpinned by robust performance across its varied business segments.

EBITDA climbed to a record Rs 8,077 crore in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, an increase of 26% compared with the corresponding period last fiscal, reflecting revenue growth alongside efficiency gains achieved throughout the group’s operations.

Adjusted profit after tax came in at Rs 2,153 crore, up 49% on the same quarter when compared with same quarter of fiscal 2026, driven by improved operational delivery across the business.

Revenue from the cellulosic fibres division reached Rs 4,530 crore, up 12% year-on-year, aided by stronger international pricing, currency depreciation and a beneficial sales mix.

While, EBITDA nearly doubled to Rs 632 crore, helped by a weaker comparative base in the first quarter of fiscal 2026 and a greater contribution from the specialty fibres range.

According to Garsim, conditions in China’s cellulosic fibres market remained buoyant, with capacity utilisation reaching 93% in the period under review, up sharply from 82% in the equivalent quarter of the prior fiscal.

Stock levels also eased to a low of just seven days, pointing to a tighter balance between supply and demand. As a result, worldwide cellulose fibre pricing rose for a third straight quarter, averaging $1.81 per kilogram in the reporting quarter, a 19% increase versus the same period last fiscal

Grasim’s cellulosic fibre volumes totalled 202 KT, a 4% decline year-on-year, attributable to reduced output caused by scheduled plant upkeep together with softer demand within the domestic market.

Nonetheless, a notable uptick in overseas shipments offered considerable offset, with export volumes more than doubling compared with the prior year.

The textiles arm of Grasim generated revenue of Rs 690 crore, a 26% year-on-year gain, while EBITDA rose to Rs 45 crore from R s9 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, on the back of improved pricing.
