CAITME Central Asian International Textile Machinery Exhibition – a recognized driver of modernization of textile capacities in Uzbekistan

The recent CAITME – the main international exhibition of equipment and technologies for
textile and garment industries in Central Asia was successfully held in full scale on
September 7-9, 2022 at Uzexpocentre, Tashkent (Uzbekistan).

The textile and garment industries are the most dynamically developing sectors of the
economy of Uzbekistan, being the pivotal spheres of introducing latest innovations and
new technologies, attracting foreign investment, creating new enterprises, including
cotton-textile clusters, as well as implementing large-scale social goals – creating a large number of new jobs across the country. In recent years, the sphere has been demonstrating a unique growth dynamics, attracting the close attention of world experts,
implementing the country’s ambitious goals to increase production, volume of exports,
expand the geography of deliveries, improve the quality and strengthen the competitiveness of “Made in Uzbekistan” products in the overseas markets.

All this implies the continuous need for a wide range of modern equipment and technologies for the entire production chain – from yarn to ready-made clothing.

The recent visit by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev
to the world’s main exhibition platform to showcase the latest textile and garment
processing technologies, ITMA in Milan, once again demonstrated the country’s
commitment to further development and modernization of the industry through the latest
high-tech and energy-efficient solutions.

The main national exhibition project in this area – the CAITME platform – is a unique
international exhibition of technologies for the textile and garment industry in the Central
Asian region, according to the statistics by the independent audit of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry UFI is the largest exhibition of this subject in the CIS countries.

Since 2004, recognized leaders in textile engineering and suppliers of the most advanced technologies from Europe and Asia have been regularly participating in the exhibition. The event is supported by key ministries and associations, attended by professionals and industry experts from across the Central Asian region (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan), leading investors and international organizations.

CAITME 2022 returned to its pre-pandemic scale and its exposition unfolded in all
exhibition halls of the NEC Uzexpocentre. The exhibition showcased a remarkable
composition of the world’s leading manufacturers. Among them are well-known
companies and leaders in the production of textile machinery: PICANOL, SAURER, TRUETZSCHLER GMBH, RIETER MACHINE WORKS, TOYOTA TEXTILE, MACHINERY, VANDEWIELE NV, JUKI, TAJIMA, TEXTIMA, ITEMA, BENNINGER, SANTEX RIMAR GROUP, BIANCALANI, BROTHER, KONICA, MIMAKI, LAKSHMI MACHINE WORKS and many more.

306 companies from 19 countries of the world (Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, India, Spain, Italy, China, Republic of Korea, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, USA, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Japan) took part in the exhibition. Three countries: Germany, Italy and the Republic of Korea presented National Expositions. Swissmem performed as the exhibition sponsor.

The most anticipated event by domestic industry experts – the 15th Anniversary CAITME exhibition is scheduled for September 11-14, 2024. Preparations for it are being carried out in full swing. 90% of the exhibition spaces have already been booked.

Participation of the National pavilions of manufacturers of advanced equipment from Germany, Italy and other leading countries in this sector is planned.

The exhibition will once again provide an opportunity for regional industry specialists to
meet and collaborate, witness the latest innovations from the world's leading
manufacturers of textile and garment equipment, get first-hand advice and technical
support. World industry experts will discuss challenges and prospects for further development of the industry within the framework of the rich business program, rounds
of B2B and B2G meetings planned.
