According to data released by Chinese Customs, China’s cotton yarn exports (HS code 5205) declined 10.8% year over year in April 2026 and totaled 17,500 tons. They also decreased 15.6% year on year over March 2026.
In April 2026, China’s cotton yarn exports to Pakistan, which accounted for 38.9% of overall cotton yarn exports and was the biggest importer of Chinese cotton yarn, dipped 33.1% from a year ago month.
However, exports to Hong Kong boosted 97.6% in April, to Cambodia expanded 41.9%, to Vietnam increased by 9.24%, while those to Bangladesh declined marginally by 1.06%, all from a year ago month.
In the first four months of the ongoing year, cotton yarn shipments slipped at a higher rate of 18.9% over the same period of the previous year to reach 60,000 tons.
