Chinese exports of spandex totaled 18,300 tons in the first three months of 2026, down 3,207 tons or 14.9% over the same period of 2025.
“In the third month of the ongoing year, spandex shipments reached 5,940 tons, slipping by 17.4% year over year, but rose 16.6% over February 2026,” figures released by Chinese Customs informed.
In the period under review, spandex was exported to 95 countries and regions. Among the top buyers of Chinese spandex, exports in the first quarter of 2026 to Vietnam, Egypt, Brazil and Indonesia grew 5.7%, 26.1%, 69.6% and 58.8% year over year, respectively.
While those to South Korea, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and UAE declined 6.80%, 32.60%, 30.10%, 54.30% and 45.00%, respectively.
In the first quarter of 2026, the average export price of spandex was $3.95 per kg, a decrease of $0.144 per kg over the same quarter of 2025.
