Chinese textile & apparel exports clock 7.2% growth in June 2026

Date:

Chinese exports of textile and apparel exports reached US $29.27 billion in June, a year-on-year increase of 7.2%.

Specifically, textile exports reached $13.52 billion, a significant increase of 12.3% over same month of earlier year, while garment exports totalled $15.75 billion, up 3.2% over June 2025.

In the first half of 2026, overseas shipments from the textile and garment industry totalled $144.97 billion to $145.96 billion, representing a 1.4% increase over the same period of 2025.

“Of this, textiles accounted for $73 billion, a rise of 3.5% while clothing shipments reached $72.96 billion, down 0.7% from a year ago period,” Chinese Customs data informed.

According to an analyst, looking ahead to the second half of the year, the global economic and trade environment will remain complex and volatile.

China’s textile and apparel industry, while maintaining stable export volume and optimizing its structure, still faces certain pressures.

However, it should also be recognized that the textile industry has a solid foundation and strong resilience.

Enterprises are demonstrating continuous innovation, new business models and formats are developing at a higher level, the benefits of domestic institutional opening-up are being steadily released, and diversified market layouts are expanding.

“These positive factors will collectively provide strong support for the stable operation of the industry’s foreign trade,” the analyst added.
