Chinese textile & garment exports down 2.3% in May 2026

Chinese textile and apparel exports reached US $25.61 billion in May 2026, a year-on-year decrease of 2.3%, but a month-on-month increase of 6.4%.

Of this, textile exports totaled $12.59 billion in May 2026, down 0.3% from a year ago month and also a 0.9% decline over April 2026

While, apparel exports totaled $13.02 billion in the month under review, slipping 4.1% over May 2025, but growing 14.7% over its previous month.

From January to May, cumulative textile and apparel exports reached US$116.72 billion, a marginal increase of 0.1% over the same period of the earlier year.
