Truetzschler India Unveils Cutting-Edge Mega Plant in Sanand

Date:

5th May 2025, Ahmedabad: Truetzschler India, an arm of the 137-year-old German textile machinery giant, Trützschler Group SE, marked a major milestone with the inauguration of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Sanand near Ahmedabad recently. The Rs. 400-crore investment reflects the company’s strong commitment to India and its growing role in the global textile machinery industry.

The new plant was inaugurated in the presence of Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Bhai Patel, honourable Member of Parliament Shri Parshottam Ji Rupala, Sanand MLA Kanubhai Patel and Consulate General of Germany in India, Mr. Achim Fabig. The owners and share holders’ family members, Senior members of Truetzschler leadership and Indian management teams were also present.

Truetzschler has been operating in India since 1977 under the name “Trumac” and has steadily expanded its footprint over the years. With its three earlier units in Lambha facing space constraints, the company acquired a 42-acre plot in Sanand and developed a modern integrated facility over the past three years. The card clothing (TCC) unit commenced operations in July last year, and the spinning division became operational in February this year.

The new facility features advanced automation, digital integration, and a large climate-controlled area aimed at ensuring optimal product quality and employee comfort. The plant’s installed capacity is nearly double that of its previous Lambha facility, and it currently supports around 1,200 direct and indirect jobs. The site also allows for further expansion, with an additional 25,000 sq mt land available for future development.

During the ceremony, Shri Parshottam Ji Rupala unveiled Truetzschler’s latest innovation, the TC26i intelligent Carding machine, while Shri Bhupendra Bhai Patel unveiled the commemorative plaque. Even further, In his address on the occasion of Gujarat Foundation Day, the Chief Minister again highlighted Truetzschler’s strategic presence across Germany, the US, China, and Brazil, and emphasised that the new Sanand plant is now the company’s largest and most technologically advanced facility worldwide.

The efforts of the Gujarat government, Truetzschler’s teams from India and Germany, employees and suppliers in bringing the ambitious project to life were also recognised on the occasion.
