Yarn Expo Spring 2024 to feature innovations in synthetic fibres and recycled textiles

Shanghai, 25 January 2024. The demand for sustainability and transparency across textile production chains has never been stronger, as the market increasingly looks to minimise environmental impacts. Initiatives focusing on recycled and regenerated products are gaining prominence globally, while synthetic fibres are experiencing growth to fulfil this eco-friendly need. Taking place from 6 – 8 March 2024 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), Yarn Expo Spring will provide a platform for top textile players to facilitate the industry’s transition to a circular economy.

Covering 27,000 sqm, Asia’s leading yarn and fibre sourcing platform, Yarn Expo Spring, will host over 500 exhibitors from 10 countries and regions, set to showcase a range of products across several growing sub-sectors. With advancements across the board, the synthetic fibres market is set to rise to USD 190.4 billion in 2024, following an 8.7% CAGR, driven by the increasing demand for cost-effective fibres, the buoyant textile industry, material science advancement and fibre performance. Innovations like fibre recycling and reuse are also fuelling this growth as they allow synthetic fibres to be repurposed while still balancing functionality with a lower environmental footprint.

The popularity of recycled textiles across various end-use sectors such as clothing, home furnishings, and industrial applications has increased due to the benefits they offer. As collection and reuse systems scale up in Asia-Pacific nations like China, India, and Australia, the recycling market is forecasted to expand 3.1% annually through 2028, reaching USD 6.9 billion.

With sustainability at the forefront, China’s “Reborn – China Fiber Zero Carbon Action 2023” initiative launched at last year’s Yarn Expo Spring, marked a significant step towards sustainable practices aligned with the country’s “dual carbon” strategy. This sets targets for industry players by promoting the expansion of recycled fibre production and usage, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and achieve carbon neutrality across different sectors. The focus on sustainability corresponds with “Texpertise Econogy”, the new umbrella for sustainability activities at Messe Frankfurt’s more than 50 textile trade shows worldwide.

In addition to attending a range of eco-focused fringe events, buyers at the 2024 spring fair will be able to source an array of innovative yarns and fibres from top suppliers who have already confirmed their participation:

Yarn Expo Spring will be held from 6 – 8 March 2024.

www.textilesresources.com is not just a blog, but it is my passion towards textile/apparel/fashion industry. After having studied at NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) at Gandhinagar campus, and associated with NDBI (National Design Business Incubation) at NID (National Institute of Design) Ahmedabad campus, I started my long journey into this field. Since 2006, I had worked for various corporates either into B2B, B2C, SaaS or AI base products/concept/services related to mostly textiles/apparel/fashion industry, and having main responsibilities are sales/revenue generator and bd. During July2023, a thought came in my mind to launch a knowledge-based website, you can also call it a blogging site, wherein users can read latest news and happenings and articles about global textiles/apparel/fashion and stay abreast. At the moment, this site is having mainly two features: News and Articles, going forward I shall also add Interviews (text/audio/video) Trade Fair calendar (this calendar is being updated as per the organizers schedule, however I request to crosscheck with organizer before any decision) , therefore, I have launched this venture in July2023, and thanks to the visitors, the site is growing every day. We have recently launched a new feature as Business Directory wherein the suppliers/manufacturers can create their profile and upload products for better exposure.
