Bihar setting up Technology Centre to support textile testing

The Bihar government laid the foundation stone for a Technology Centre in Gaya which will be set up at an investment of Rs 170 crores and will include textile testing.

Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary jointly laid the foundation stone for the project.

The centre will be set up on a 20 acres land at a cost of Rs 170 crores, of which Rs. 86 crore will be spent on setting up the infrastructure and Rs. 84 crore for installing state of the art machinery and equipment.

The centre will have utility, training, administrative blocks, a multipurpose hall, hostel and accommodation for the staff.

The Centre will serve sectors like heavy and general engineering and also include textile testing. The centre is expected to provide support to MSME’s in Gaya and surrounding districts.

Support will be provided by giving access to MSME’s to the latest advanced production technologies, technical support services and also provide training to around 7,000 people yearly.

The centre will house or provide CAD/CAM/CAE design support, CNC machines, tool room equipment, Industry 4.0 laboratories and rapid prototyping services.

It will also provide training programs in textile technologies, automation, data analytics, quality control, artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things.
