Brazil on track to achieve second highest cotton production record in history

Date:

The National Cotton Exporters Association (ANEA) of Brazil revised its crop projection from 3.955 million tons to 4.006 million tons for the 2025/26 season.

If achieved, this will be the second largest cotton production in the country’s history, second only to the 4.260 million tons recorded in 2024/2025.

The increase of approximately 51,000 tons is mainly attributed to favourable weather in Mato Grosso and Bahia.

The new estimate also points to record exports in 2026, with strong performance in the first half of the year.

In 2026, cotton export shipments are also expected to set a new record at 3.359 million tons, above the 3.210 million projected in April 2026.
